max pkt size of 802.11 MAC

Hi,

I would like to know, what is the max size pkt (without fragmentation) that is requested by the MAC to PHY, for tx? Is it 2312+34 byte header, or is it 4095 bytes?

P.S.: Also, does the PHY further break up the pkt? I don't think so, but just want to confirm.
