I'm trying to get my win2000 laptop and linux box to communicate wirelessly without using an AP. I configured most of the linux box using a standard linksys WMP54G card, and now I was just getting started on the laptop and noticed I had no tools for configuring the card. The Card is simply listed
as Lan-Express IEEE 802.11 PCI Adapter, and the laptop is an acer travelmate 250. These laptops usually come preloaded with windows xp, so the configuration of the card (managed/adhoc, ssid) is (i think) managed by windows xp's utilities. What I want to know is
1) who makes these lan-express cards!
2) is there a utility for these cards for ppl who aren't using windows XP?
Thanks!
