WiMax for WLANS?

Good morning everyone. A question just occured to me while I was reading through some Wi-Max info. Is Wi-Max only for a metropolitan type of setting or can you make your wireless network Wi-Max instead of Wi-fi?

You can use it for whatever you want but you will be hard pressed to find (http://www.wimaxforum.org/news/press_releases/FDD_Certifications) any equipment to install. :o
