I am looking for a NIC that has a built-in antenna that can recess or "pop" down into the PC Card. This way I can leave the card in my laptop, even in my briefcase. The only card that I see advertised regularly is the 3COM Wireless Lan PC Card w/ XJACK (3COM model #3CRWE62092A).

Has anyone had experience with this card? Do you recommend it? Any other cards with the antenna configuration I am looking for that are recommended?

I have found that most (if not all) wireless NICs extend their antenna beyond the PC-Card slot. I think 3com unit is the only extending antenna PC-Card.

The best drivers I have found are the Proxim set. I have little experiance with the 3com drivers.

Most new laptops are arriving with the option for internal wireless NIC. Both my Powerbook & Dell have internal wireless NICs.
