I am taking a network security class and working on a project which explores the security of WiFi networks, specifically the ability to make DNS requests.
One thing we discovered is that anyone can make a DNS request from a hotspot and receive a reply without any authentication.
Does anyone know why any random person can use their wireless ethernet card to make DNS requests?
