I have a Wi-Fi set up in our RV Park (courtesy the help of member mpkn3rd).
Howeve it doesn't reach the far end of our park. I have a location at that end with 110v power.
I currently use a Speedstream DSL and a Netgear WG 602 sending to a 20 foot antenna. I don't use a router, tho I do have a D-link DI-604 I can use if necessary. We transmit free and unsecured to our customers.
My question is: what do I need to have a second transmitting point at that end?
2 bridges? What make?
Another antenna? What make?
what else? What make?
All help appreciated,
Dennis
I posted on the thread that you asked about the link, but I can add some more detail here. A diagram might help.
|= Ethernet cable

Speedstream DSL

....|..>- Existing NetGear 602 lets say one channel 1
....>- New NetGear 602 setup as a bridge link on channel 11

...........>-New NetGear 602 setup as bridge link on channel 11
...............|
...............>- new NetGear 602 setup as access point on channel 6
I mentioned the channels as they need to be on non-interfering ones, of which there are only three channels 1, 6, and 11.

As I understand you: I have one 602 and I need 3 more. I have one antenna and I need 3 more. All on three different channels.!
I do believe that this is beyond my capability tech wise, and a little too pricey for a free service to our customers.
Thanks for the advice.
You did not mention how far the remote location is going to be? What is the distance from the existing antenna to that location as well? Is it in just a localized area? You maybe able to setup one more AP at your present location with a high gain directional antenna pointed in that particular area and get coverage. There are many options, you just need to be more detailed in your description of what you need. As well as explaining the physical topology of your park.

A friend suggested a Linksys / WRE54G / 54Mbps / Wireless Range Extender - woulds this give a coverage of about 400 feet? - that seems a more reasonably priced option.
