Hello all...
My coworker bought an "new" old laptop... an unused 133mhz Pentium IBM with Windows 98. He stuck in a wireless notebook adapter and here's what's happening: he can connect to any 80211 network easily but can only access the internet at a few locations (free wi-fi cafes). When he's online with it it's plenty fast and works great... why would it find the internet at a few locations but not the rest? (We confirmed that the internet was working everywhere by logging on with my wireless computer).
Thanks
