Brand new to this forum and I hope someone can help me.
We have been running a WLAN inside our home for some time now with no problems. We are using a D-Link model DI-524; I'm not sure what revision the chipware is (how can I find that out if I need to). We have two desktops that both are wireless and as I said, no problems with them.
What I need to know is which D-Link repeater will work with the DI-524 to reach about 300 ft into another building next door? The new system there has a wireless card and can pickup the router but the signal is not near strong enough.
Appreciate any help,
Randy :o

Not sure about D-Link, But I had a the same problem,,ended up having to put WAP in my building and a WAP set up as repeater in the other.. I used Linksys WAP54G's, one set as AP other as Repeater..

I should have added more info,,
This is my setup ,
At my office I have a wrt54g for 3 computers, and I have a WAP54G hard wired to the wrt54g, as my AP (in my building) and a WAP45g as a repeater.(in the remote building) .
Then I have 2 computers with wusb54g adapters.. Hope this helps.. Thanks , Ted O.
Houndog explained one method, but I would be a bit nervous in the respect that the signal may not get there and if it did, it might be weak and really hurt your bandwidth.
You really need to have a bridge link and another access point
Like this
DI-524
| - Ethernet cable
>- Access point acting as bridge client.
....<> - wireless
......>-Access point acting as bridge client at remote location
..........| - Ethernet cable
..........>- Access point for the client computers.
This tutorial will help explain.

Tutorial link doesn't seem to work..........
RVPark it has been awhile. Good to hear from you.
I read your other post and would suggest using the setup I mentioned in the previous post. The only other better setup would be if you could run a Ethernet cable to that location as it will be difficult to run, but the network would be easier and more stable. How far are you talking about as that that might rule out the cable approach if it is over 100m.
I would not suggest a repeater as they will automatically reduce the available bandwidth by half. As for devices I would suggest staying with the brand you have and all you would need are three access poinnts not routers access points. As for antennas that will be determined by the distance. I would suggest two directional panels for the bridge link and then one omni directional for the access point that you are using to allow the clients to connect.
