FooPad is a group to bring together Programmers, Engineers and Users to brew up free national 802.11 Secure Internet Sources for Free User Access.
I have started this group for everyone so we can get some ideas on how this can be done.
Some obsticles to overcome are:
Funding - where from and how
Hardware - What works best
Security - How one can share internet without getting hacked.
If we can put our heads together, this can be the linux of 802.11
Why am I doing this?
I am sure there are many tech without jobs during these hard economic times. This has some really good potential for job creation such as Access Point Installers ... etc.
