ok, when trying to go into properties when my wireless connection status is up and try to click on a tab other than the general tab that comes up first, I get a msg saying:"There are no protocols installed or enabled"(on title bar) and under msg saying: "you must install or enable one protocol for this connection to work." When I try to install any of the protocols in the list underneath and click add I get a msg: "Could not add the requested component. Error is: The data is invalid."
So I tried uninstalling my driver for my AT&T plug&share usb adapter 6602g. But I got screwed and couldn't get it working for some reason. Got an error msg about invalid data after installing. So I did a system restore for a few days earlier and it worked fine for awhile. Didn't install anything that should have interfered, but just checked it and it's doing the same thing. Also under general, when I click configure for the device, it just closes the window. Seem like some files are corrupt or something to me, but I don't know what to do. I know its not the software/driver for the device because I tried reinstalling it from two original sorces.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks for all your help

forgot to say that the connection is running fine right now. But there is this problem. I use Wireless Zero Configuration instead of program that came with the product because those always seem to be lame.

OK, I have been refraining from injecting any sort of comments. But, I suspect that if this was me, I would just reformat and reload. Sorry, but I have been involved with MS for as long as Bill wants to admit. I just do not have his skill set or the time to try and figure out what the ultimate problem is. So I just reformat and reload. I get the client working and I guess that maybe considered a compromise in the purist line of thinking. But the customer is happy and that helps my profit margin.

thanks for replying. Yeah, I'm getting all kinds of screwy things happening. Like it will be connected and say disconnected and it will say connected and will be disconnected. My junk is totally disconfigued. So, that was what I was thinking too. I'm just waiting for an external hard drive in the mail to back up all my files and then I'll be in the clear I think. :)
