I know there are many variables to this, but I would like to get an idea as to what the popular choices are for doing this.

I have both a Linksys 802.11b and 802.11a access points that I would like to setup on my Windows 2000 AD network in a secure manner. Could anyone recommend some methods or technologies that I might want to take advantage of ? How about any good articles that could get me started in the right direction.

Thanks all.

Matt

I think your best strategy would be to implement an 802.1x authentication using RADIUS to your Active Directory. This allows youto use WEP for OTA encryption, and 802.1x for authentication to your network. This would allow for better key management for WEP than just using a static key, and an easier migration to WPA when that becomes available.

I am not sure what type of access point you are using, but here is a 802.1x How-to for Cisco 350/Microsoft AD. This how-to should be pretty useful, as most of the configuration is on Microsoft's side, and the access point just needs to point to the right authentication server.
