Hello,

I'm trying to install Belkin's Wireless G Plus Desktop Card (F5D7001) on my computer but the drivers will not install properly. Looking at the hardware in the device manager gets me the following generic error message:

This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31).

The driver version is 3.100.64.1.

I'm running Windows XP Media Center edition with SP 2 on a Gateway 835GM.

I've also got an onboard, wired network interface: the Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet. I've got a sneaking suspicion that the problem is caused by a conflict between the onboard adapter and the wireless one, but I'm not sure how to go about proving/disproving that and fixing it.

I've tried uninstalling and re-installing the drivers and downloading the newest drivers from Belkin, neither of which worked.

Any ideas?

-Thanks

Take the Belkin POS back and buy yourself a DLink or Linksys.

Actually, you may want to avoid the Linksys too...it wouldn't work when there was another 10/100 card in the systems I tried it in here - neither would a Netgear.

Finally bought a Dlink DWL-G510 that worked when there was another network card in the same system...

Live and learn.

Thanks for the advice! I got a Linksys which also doesn't want to work so I think I'm going to do something crazy involving an airport and alternate firmware for a Linksys router.

It'll be a fun week.
