I wonder if someone could please help me configure my home network, I have searched high and low for information on how to do this but to no avail..

My cable modem connects to my first router, R1, which has one pc, PC1, and my second router, R2, connected to it. The second router, R2 (a wireless/wired combo), then has one wired pc, PC2, and one wireless notebook, NB1, connected to it. PC1 can access the internet with no problems; NB1 fins the wireless network with no problems; PC2 can configure R2, so the problem seems to be configuring R2 and the link between the routers. I understand that R2 should be configured with a static address and thought I had done this but this has still not enabled either PC2 or NB1 to gain access to the WAN/Internet.

I would REALLY appreciate it if someone could find the time to talk me through the steps I need to follow in order to get this network up and running. Thanks in advance..

I think I know what is going on. But, I have to make some assumptions. I assume that you are using R1 to give out DHCP information tothe computers connected to it and not the cable modem. That is OK. Next what is R2 being used for just to add some more connections and wireless or are you trying to separate the computers so they can not see each other? I will assume the first choice, then in R2's configuration you need to turn off DHCP and instead of plugging the cable from R1 in to the WAN/Internet port, plug it into one of the switch ports. Then R2 will just act as an access point and a switch. That should solve your connection problem.

Thanks M/Q for your response. You assume correctly on both counts. Issue now resolved - thanks for your time.
