Our wireless network consists of:
An AirPort Express router
An Apple laptop running OS X (which has the AirPort Setup Utility)
Two laptops running Windows XP, both with internal wireless cards
Our wireless network normally operates perfectly fine, using WPA security. However, I recently bought a Nintendo DS, and in order to get it online on our network, I have to change the security from WPA, because the DS doesn't support WPA. So we've tried both changing to WEP security and using MAC address filtering. Right now I'm working on MAC address filtering. When I do these, the two laptops running Windows drop and regain the wireless connection every few minutes. I have no idea why changing our security levels would cause this, and I'm pretty sure I've got the basic settings correct because I am on the internet sometimes (clearly, as I'm posting this.) The DS and the Apple laptop don't seem to have any trouble maintaining the connection, but the Windows computers do. Any thoughts?
Another thing, even though I'm connected to the internet right now, the wireless connection icon in my Network Connections windows still says I'm "Not Connected", as does the wireless connection icon in my system tray.
