I have 6 networked computers plugged into an 8 port router. A DSL modem is plugged into one of the ports. All of the wired computers access the internet fine and all have their own IP addresses. I have a new Linksys Access Point plugged into the remaining port on the router. My new wireless notebook computer sees the office network and can see all the computers and functions normally through the new Access Point for all functions (programs, file sharing, printing) but the internet will not work from the notebook computer. I assigned a new non-conflicting static IP address to the notebook so that it would work with our network. During setup of the Access Point I assigned it a different static IP address as well. How can I get the notebook to access the internet?
Is the DSL modem plugged into the WAN/Internet port of the 8 port router? Which device is acting as a DHCP server or is everything setup as static IP addr's?
Have you compared the ipconfig /all logs from a wired computer and the wireless one. As it sounds like the default gateway maybe incorrectly configured? I also assume that the static IP addr's you assigned are still in the same subnet as the rest of the computers as you are able to communicate with them.
One other thought is if you have a firewall/security suite application that might be configured incorrectly.

Every computer in the office has its own static IP address and none conflict and are unique. The DSL line is plugged into one of the regular ports on the router and has always been this way. There is no special internet port on the router. All of the wired computers have always communicated this way to the internet. The Access Point is just wired into one of the open ports as well. I have checked all the TCP/IP issues and the gateway matches as does the subnet mask for all computers. I disabled the firewall on the notebook but it still would not connect to the internet. I can see all the computers on my network and access them all, and all of them will access the internet but the notebook won't.
What is the brand/model of the router? You misunderstood me, all routers have at least two interfaces, the typical SOHO router has a port labeled Internet or WAN. I am sure yours does as well. Or it is a more sophisticated router in which it has interfaces and does not classify them.
What happens when you plug the notebook into one of the wired ports on the router, after configuring the Ethernet network connection?
Can you ping the router from the notebook through the access point? Can you ping the access point?
