Im currently in the pre equipment purchase stage of setting up a wifi solution for a 18 story, 75 unit hotel.

Each floor is only 4 units so ea floor its not very spread out, but the main problem is that I cant wire to each AP. I'm looking at bridging solutions from Firetide and AP's such as the DLB2350 Hi Power Indoor AP or the Strix systems solutions or vivato's AP's.

my budget is around 10k. I'm also considering some EoP (ethernet over power) solutions for providing wiring to some AP's. Any ideas or suggestions before i order some of this equpiment and test it out? This hotel is not near alot of population so i dont anticipate much interfearence, and we only need 1-2mbit bursts delivered to each user (of which I only predict 5-15 concurrent users, 30 during peak times.)

thanks, joe

You should really perform a good site survey or hire a local company to do this work *before* purchasing equipment otherwise you may end up with a lot of expensive items that won't work well for your customers.

There's really no way of knowing how the signal will travel through the building until this important step is done, especially if you're considering wireless bridging which for a building of this size, I'd seriously consider running Cat. 5 between floors.

You'll also need a gateway to provide users with a login screen for access to the Internet. If you only anticipate 30 users max, I'd recommend the DLink DSA3100 as it will support up to 50 users.

If you expect an average of 15 users, a 6 meg DSL line will work fine.
