Typical Gain for Antennas

Does any one know the typical gain (dBi) of standard rubber ducky antennas that come with desktop radio cards and the gain of PCMCIA card antennas?

It would be nice if vendors listed this within the product specs.

The typical antennna on devices is advertised as 2dBi, I consider that optimistic on their part as it does not agree with my information on RF and antenna theory. To put that in perspective the perfect isotropic radiator from which all ratings is derived starts at one. So 2dBi would be one magnitude better.

Antennas on pc cards are an afterthought and again they say 2dBi, but that is only because in most situations antenna gain is always expressed in whole numbers. Logically how could that setup be remotely as good as a rubber ducky?
