jus a thought....but someone probabaly has already asked this somewhere
would it be possible to use my old 2.4 ghz cordless phone's antenna and somehow attach it to my wireless card card to increase signal strength???
What is the wireless card's make and model? There are several that have antenna hardware hacks out on the Internet. If you find one, I guess I would follow their suggestions. Also most cordless phones use proprietary connectors if they even are removable.

my wireless card is d-link dwl-g520 extreme G
i took a look on the card where the antenna screws in and i'm guessing it only uses two wires for the antenna
i'm assuming most antennas , the small ones especially, have their antenna attached the same way?
maybe i can solder the larger antenna onto the card???
I may have this wrong but the adapter you mentioned has a removable antenna and can be replaced by using a rp-sma connector type antenna. DLink has several that will fit without any kind of alteration.
