I have a small business network with a need for some security. I want to install a wireless access point for or Tablet Pc's and need something that is fairly secure. We run a windows 2000 network so everything is done through athentication but I would still like the access point to be fairly secure.

Get a Cisco 1200
Is the best way on wireless security (as i know).
You can combine LEAP autentication with the dinamyc Wep keys changing on time Interval you want, p.e each 10 sec. the wep keys will change (I recommend You to put it at less at 15 min.), and If you Get the ACS server (is avaliable for M$ 2000 Server) you will be able to personality the clients access. The Issue is that all clients must be Cisco Aironet 35x or OS win prof./XP (only with some devices).

Its an expensive solution but if You're worried about security, just spend your money.

Thats' all Folks!

Consider Orinoco for performance & security!
Orinoco’s AP-2000 offers 802.1x security. In addition, the AP-2000 is a “dual slot architecture” which allows you to have 802.11b and 802.11a Client’s connected simultaneously (802.11g when released). Cisco’s LEAP (proprietary solution) is good but there are some security issues that a whacker may find vulnerable, instead consider EAP-TLS or EAP-TTLS as a WLAN security solution.

Here are some links that you may find helpful:

Hope this helps!

Both Cisco and Orinoco (Proxim) have very good security. Just make which ever vendor you choose that you upgrade the firmware to the latest version. That will ensure you have all security fixes.
