Dear All,

i am operating a pig Wi-Fi project in one of the biggest hotels in the middle east
but i am facing a very strange problem, hope that any one could help

i am using network stumbler software to test the signal strings, but i found that my laptop always connected to a very faraway access point with a low signal but at the same time i am very close to another AP with an excellent signal, so i switch off an on my wireless adaptor may times to let my laptop get connected to this close AP, i tried to change the channels but the same results i got
plas any one advice.

i am using Linksys access point WAP54g and my laptop is intel centrino

What is it that you are trying to achieve?

If it is to see if you can connect to the AP with the strong signal, you could disable the far away AP and test.

You may also try and turn off windows wireless zero configuration (Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Services) and try connecting through utilities that came with your wireless card (if any).
