Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : WLAN test tools ?
I recently joined the wireless tst grp in a startup. Most of the tetsing done is manual with actual clients/aps and stuff. The couple of test tools i came across are either too expensive (azimuth, veriwave) for my company to buy at this stage or are from opensource linux based which is too time comsuming to figure out and verify. Apart from airopeek (the wireless protocol sniffer) does anyone have any other info on tools to use for testing lan products ? I am talking abt non-RF testing, like testing the protocol itself.
thanks,

It's a great tool, and it's reasonably priced. Aside from RF network management, it also offers protocol level analysis and a bunch of troubleshooting tools. www.airmagnet.com

thanks, i downloaded it and tried the eval version. It is great, but still does not meet my needs. It s great for IT ppl for troubleshooting a network. But does not help much product test engr. What i want is a total control of clients when testing APs and vice versa. but i cant do that today. I just have run the tests using 20-25 different client and beleive that i have taken a good sample. There are some tools on knoppix, but cant rely on them.
