hi all,

I have just bought a new asus z71v laptop with a 1,86Ghz P M processor, 1GB dual channel ram, and a 2915 wireless adapter from intel and am running windows XP media center edition 2005.

the problem is that my laptop sees the network (d-link DI-512) that has a unique name (SSID is NOT default) for a range that has MAYBE 10 feet. I can't for exemple go out of my room and still get a signal.

Anyone got advice on what to do?

as further precision, the router is located in a central hall as my roomates need it there as they are still wired (haha... ****ers :D )!

thanx for all your help!

Jas

update: I'm exhausted, I've tried what seems to be everything. Updated drivers for the chipset, updated the firmware on the router... screwed in the antenna tighter... help me out!

How high off the ground is the router?

deffective 2915 chip I guess. I'll have to get it refunded on warranty I suppose! As a matter of fact, does nyone know how long the warrranty on that is?
