I've lost my WEP key

Hello, I recently broke my NetGear USB wireless adapter and bought a replacement card for my notebook. However after installing this to access the LAN I need to insert the WEP key. However i have lost the key and do not wish to ask my mother for it as she will go slightly spare. is there anyway i can find out the wep key and thus save my self from total obliteration?

If you know the password to access your router, you could connect your PC directly to the router and access the administrative web pages to get it.

Or your could reset your router to default (no WEP) and use the same method mentioned above.
