Hello everyone.

A small problem occured with my Toshiba M-55 about a week after i bought and installed a wireless router to my cable modem.

After my laptop has been turned off and then later turned back on my wireless network sometimes will and wont work. I have a simple setup in my apartment. My connection is always on, with full signal strength, My firewall is turned off and I have an apperently heathly connection; but when ever I open a browser I get the "page cannot be displayed" page. I know that my wireless card is working, that is evident. The one thing this is the most obvious is that I'm recieving little to no activity on an active connection (as is shown in the corner of my toolbar), and very few packets are being sent. I've tried numerous times to "repair" the connection and to reset it but to no avail.
I've also contacted tech support for both my ISP and Toshiba, but with no luck. They had no idea what was wrong with my wifi.

I know that this an odd problem and I Thank You for your help.

if windows xp, make sure you've got service pack 2, I read that service pack one can cause problems with dropping wireless connections. good luck!

Hello J_Rock86,

If you're getting an IP/Address; can ping a site by URL and IP/Address. Have a look at your browser settings.

;) Configure Internet Explorer:

Click <Tools> <Internet Options> <Connections>: Remove any Dial-up and VPN Settings if not used by you for accessing your company's VPN.

Then click <LAN Settings>, uncheck "Automatically detect settings" and all other checks if any other settings are checked; save the changes.

Reboot your computer; run I/E, you should be online.
