VoWiFi - Client Hardware

In researching the latest and greatest VoWifi client devices, i have yet to see a device that has already been released that can seamlessly roam from VoWiFi to cellphone access (GSM/GPRS/etc..) or vice versa. The Cisco/Motorola team up seems the most promising, but I'm afraid of what the backend would require and if mix/matching vendor equipment would even be possible.

Also, does anyone out there know of any current statistics of VoWiFi calls over a wireless mesh? Specifically dropped calls while roaming from AP -> AP or degradation of call quality while moving quickly (i.e. driving).

Those are some pretty specific numbers you’re looking for. Might need to access some statistical research databases to get that kind of information. I for one don’t have anything like that off hand but will see what I can find and reply back. It certainly would be interesting to know.
