Final Year Project assistance

Hi there, i'm new to the forum. Currently undertaking a final year project in an Electrical & Electronics Eng. program majoring in Communication Systems. A friend of mine is doing a study on implementing WLAN in our campus. We decided to do the same topic to ease equipment sharing as well as other overheads. Thing is, the lecturers do not allow 2 students doing the same exact topic. A further divsion is required of the topic, like for example one doing the hardware and the other software. I've been thinking of studying VoWLAN to complement the project and would still be under the same topic.

Kindly require some assistance such as resources, planning, ideas, etc. The project has a duration of 1-year, split into 2, the 1st being research part and 2nd is the implementation. Coverage area would be campus-wide with a test lab being the experimentation ground. Thanx heaps.

Thanx for the link but do u have one which covers the basics and fundamentals? My topic is just a general study on implementing the system in my campus, co-existing with the topic (WLAN) a friend of mine proposed. More links and resources appreciated.

The link Planet left would be your best bet. You should look though the Backgrounders (http://www.voipplanet.com/backgrounders/) section and read those articles. They’re all geared towards understanding the basics of the technology. That’s where I started because VoIP Planet is the most comprehensive grouping of VoIP info that I’ve found on the web so far so I’m also interested in any other links.

Of course if you have a specific question then you should be able to get an answer for it here.

Does anyone have a diagram of basic connectivity of VoIP on a LAN? Found a few but most of em depicts connectivity to a VoIP service provider.
