Linksys all in one 802.11g router

I bought the linksys compact all in one router / "access point" today thinking that I could take the wifi connection that exists in my home and connect my pc upstears to u wireless network via this "access point" was i right, does this convert wifi in to wired???

Yes! you're right; however, you made no mention on how you intend to make the connection between upstairs and downstairs!
