I am in a 1/2 mile dead zone for broadband.I would like to know the max distance I can shoot a wireless signal using direction antenas. Also how much cable can I have on the antena before I get signal loss.I have access to DSL about 400yards from my house in a direct line of sight. It crosses 1 road so hardlining it would be trouble.I know max gain is a plus but Im not sure of my limitations. If getting the 1.5 meg DSL at the source what will I get at my location?Thank you in advance.:)

You will lose 91 dB of signal strength on a 400 yard path.
With a typical 30 mW consumer grade adapter on your end,
and a pro grade 1 watt AP and 6 dB omni on the other end,
a 10 dB gain antenna on your end will provide a marginal 20 db signal operating margin on the other end. Your end will have a robust 35 dB SOM.
High grade cable like LMR400 has about 7 dB signal loss per 100 feet. So if you have a 100 foot run, you will need at least a 17 dB dish to provide a marginal signal at the far end. The next common antenna size is a 24 dB dish, which is the largest common size.
If the other end has a consumer grade AP and a directional antenna, all the above is utterly irrelevant.

What Im looking to do,is bring 1.5 meg DSL into my aunts house,go from DSL modem to wireless router, out through the directional antena,to my house into directional antena, then into my machine useing a D-Link AirPlus G510 wireless PCI Adaptor. As I said before, distance is about 400 yards,I shouldnt have to run more than 100ft of cable to connect the antenas.

Why would you pay $65 for

Same antenna. Calculations indicate ~50 dB SOM, 20 is marginal, more is better.
