Is the encryption method more secure on 802.11a then 802.11b/g?
When did 802.11a come out in relation to 802.11b?
Thanks for you help in advance.

Hi MntnMan8000,
The Encryption method used by Wireless LAN quipment is independent of 802.11 A, B or G Standards. These IEEE Standards are physical layer specifications for radio, mentioning transmit power, operational frequency; data rates, transmit power in mW, etc. So the encryption would be the same in case of 802.11A, 802.11B or 802.11G Radios.
All Wireless Equipment have security features embedded within their operating systems [vx works, IOS, etc]. So far WEP [wired equivalent privacy], MIC, TKIP, CIPHER, etc. were been used to secure data transfer. However the newer IEE 802.11i Standard defines an advance Encryption System [AES] which is much stronger than WEP & eliminates the vulnerabiolities present in WEP asn encryption method.
