D-Link DWL 5000AP (802.11a) supports 152-bit dynamic per-link key exchange. Here's what they say about it:

152-bit WEP Encryption with dynamic key exchange.
The DWL-5000AP provides enhanced security using industry standard 64,128, 152-bit WEP data encryption at full line speed without noticeable performance degradation. In addition, the DWL-5000AP takes advantage of unique per link keys, dynamic key exchange to address the security concerns of transmitting sensitive information through a wireless network.

Does this look to be useful or is it more of a gimmick?

Max, the use of dynamic key exchange is very useful to reduce the possibility of someone hacking the WEP key. If the WEP key is left unchanged, then someone can use airsnort or webcrack to eventually break through the encryption.
