Netgear ME102 and MA401

I have had my XP laptop using the Netgear setup mentioned...It has been working for over 4 months...

in summary I have an all Netgear setup, Netgear Cable Router, to a Net gear hub, to a Netgear ME102, to a Netgear MA401...

again it all worked 2 days ago, nothing has changed...

now, the laptop(M401) is barely getting any network connectivity.

From a Desktop, connected to the hub, where the wireless hub is ALSO connected, there are no Internet or other network issues..when the laptop is directly connected there are no issues...

so it is either the WiFi Hub or Card...the COnnection Utility shows a full connection no problems with the RF....doesn't mean the card is not the problem tho...

YET, I am unable to PING the Wifi hub, with 100% reliability..I am getting at least 50% failure each time I ping the ME102...

why would this be? again, nothing is different than the day before where everything worked perfect...


I once had the same type of problem with a Netgear PCI NIC...got the IP address, but couldn't rout out....I bought new NICs...I don't want to do this here 300 bucks is just too much


I may upgrade to the Combo Lynksis wifi hub...then I may not have to update my laptop NIC...

any help is appreciated....

Just a caution: Be careful about interoperability of different manufacturers when it comes to using WEP. I could not get my Netgear MA301/401 combination to work with my Linksys router. I ended up getting a Netgear router instead.
