Pardon my ignorence here, but are there any Wi Max products on the market yet?? Even heavily proprietary bits of kit would be good.

Ummm I'm waiting time when the miniPCI card will cost under $500 and support external connector and Linux :-) .Just bit funcy to upgrade our community network...maybe 9-12months? :-)
The only what I know is a Alvarion proprietary system and the Intel plans to make first half of the next year stacionary equipment for network and second half of next year same mobile solution....just time will tell if this is realistic or will be posponed due to....businness reason (make more money etc.).Most other companies will want to take a advantage to go on the WiMAX wave...so we will see....houpfly soon. But for the mass production are necessary free frequencies...so houpfly early next year same extra band will be in Europe available(5470-5720MHz).Now a few companies(Alvarion etc) have same proprietary 3.5 and 5.8GHz solution....but the price don't know yet :( it is not publicly know :(

Hi Aldapo...thanks for the response.

I have seen the Alvarion website so will look into it a bit further. I'm looking to provide connectivity to marinas and harbours in the UK and hopefully into europe also.

Thanks again
