My neighbor is running a wireless network on channel 6, and i'm running wireless of channel 3, but everyonce in a while a couple of my machines will jump off my network on to my neighbors. The question is.. how can i block out channel 6?

You can't block out 6, however, it sounds like you and your neighbor are on identical unconfigured out of the box systems.
Change your ssid and this will go away. Also dont use three use either one or eleven.

Ok well your computers are still able to associate to his out of the box setup, despite being configured with a unique ssid.
Something is wrong here. The ssid should be the factor that deliberatley keeps this from happening. Re-look at your client setup and see if you missed something. You should only associate to you.

Hey tim,
I guess we are using broadcast ssid & broadcast encryption key from your Ap And nothin is configured on the client. In this case the issue u r facin is normal. To avoid it, disable broadcasts and configure the ssid & the encryption keys on the clients as well.
If you have already done this using some software provided with the client adapter. Then please check if the wireless zero configuration of the windows operating system is disabled rt. click on net work neighbourhood properties/go to the second tab & uncheck the first box. (For win 2k & win xp)
and yup there's no way to block the neighbours channel but however some client config. softwares giv ewu the option of entering the preferred mac address of AP. Upon entering that, such probs go off.
cheers,
