Netstumbler can find APs quite well. But is there any software that will find and measure the signal strength of various clients that are associated to an AP?

There might be times when I might want to measure the signal strength of a client.

Airmagnet -

3000.00 american plus tax...

Does lots of things well and promises things it doesn't do well but for an all around troubleshooter its not bad.

I'm still not completely impressed with it though and maybe its my lack of experience with it.

Its real good at detecting and finding rogue AP's and any 802.11a b g device (must have tri mode)

It's good at troubleshooting clients

It's good at overall channel utilization etc..

Some of the alarms are kind of hokey, I don't put a whole lot of faith in them

My favorite tools are the Cisco ACU site survey tool and a continuous ping running together.

This finds and or solves 90% of the problems I encounter.

Airmagnet is very good at rogue detection - sounds like a gieger counter when your searching for it.

Now if I just had an Anritsu spectrum analyser I would be fat and happy.
