A prospect is considering WiFi from us for a lot of WiFi sites, but wants us to filter the web content so that pornographic web sites don't come through.

I'm not all that sure how to do that. Is that usually a function of the ISP?

I think I heard of an ISP called Mayberry or something like that, that filtered for bad content.

Even if we knew the URL names of the pornographic web sites, that would be a full time job, just keeping up with that.

I would love to hear what you think would be the best way for us to offer wireless Internet service and also filter for bad content.

I don't know if this can be done by hardware of software. Probably can be done by both, but maybe hardware would be easier and less expensive?

Keep in mind that nothing is perfect.

we use n2h2 at the isp i work for. it seems to get the job done really well. there's over 40 or so categories that you can pick from and to block or pass through along with some other cool stuff you can do. im not to familiar with it though, thats not my department to worry about

Thank you both.

I see these are software based, where I would need to have a co-located server.

I'm looking for a hardware based device. Some kind of router.

I did find out that Linksys has a wireless router that can work with a subscription service for web content filtering. And also Netopia has a router that works with a web content filtering service.

I'll look closer at the ones you mentioned though.

Thanks much.
