I am going to be setting up a Wireless Network in a Hotel with 130 rooms. What I need is some info of how to set this up.

I want it to be easy plug and play access into the Network of course. I want it to be where all they have to do is set their Network settings to obtain an IP automatically and then get a user name and password from the front desk.

I don't want them to be able to get on one anothers computers, or even see them if possible.

What can I do here? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks, Mike

sounds like you need to hire a consultant, read a book, or start experimenting.

Medde,

Although the expertise is out here on this board to help you get there, all of your questions cannot be answered on one foot. IMVHO, if you have the budget, it might be worthwhile for you to hire a consultant to help you with this one. If you want or must do this yourself, here are some of the steps in a nutshell. If you research each of these further you'll find better direction on this board and elsewhere.

- You will need to perform a site Survey to help determine how signal strength travels through the walls in your hotel and how many access points to buy.

- You will need to buy or build a hotspot gateway that will handle authentication for you. A model that has been discussed here is the DSA 3100 from d-link, but there are also several others.

- You will need to get Access Points that have 'privacy separation' - i.e. the ability to hide one wireless client from another.

By searching for these topics individually you might have better luck learning more.

In addition, you may want to contact a company that runs hotspot service and discuss becoming a node with them, which might be more cost-effective.
