IF, I have a Cisco 350 AP config'd as a repeater to extend a WLAN area, will a client associate with the repeater or with the wired AP? I'm trying to slightly extend a Cisco 1200 .b WLAN by using a Cisco 350 in the middle, and Stumbler shows an association to the repeater, not the base AP. I assumed that the actual association would be to the base AP.
Thx..

You are correct, that it associates to the AP and not the Repeater. And... the Ciscos always try to connect clients through the main AP first, even if the signal strength to the Repeater is better because as I'm sure you already know, half the throughput is lost when going through the repeater.
"A client will only associate to a repeater if it can not maintain a link at all to the root, this is due to the fact it is better to use a lower data rate and have a poor link that the 50% throughput and added latency "

Good luck!
