I'm new to the wireless world, but tasked with developing a new product that will be installed in doctors' offices that will require wireless communication between various devices. There will not be a hard-wired LAN. All devices will communicate via wireless transmission and at least one will need to "see" the Internet.

To achieve the architecture that I'm trying to implement, I'm looking for an 802.11b gateway that will connect to the Internet via standard dial-up to an ISP (DSL may not be available) and also provide a Print Server, Firewall and Router with NAT in the same unit.

Does anyone know if there is such a device? Does anyone have any experience with them?

I have read router/gateway/print servers that support DSL connection to the Internet and have seen some that also have a dial-up "backup" connection. But I would like to find one that isn't burdened with the expense of the DSL gear, since it won't be used.

Thanks for any help or advice you can provide.

Well actually it sounds like and rg-1000 will do what you want it to. I recommend just getting a wireless print server for your printer they are about 100 dollars (about the same as a wireless card). I have some new in box 802.11b equipment including an rg-1000. I however do not have a wireless print server LinkSys makes one though
