Hi,
I'm in process of creating a AD hoc network using two laptops and 802.11b cards. The laptops will be continously moving but always stay within eye shot and ~ 1/4 mile from each other. At times I would like to transmit real time video,
images, files, and voice communication between these two laptops. I'm looking at the prospect of creating two homemade 16 slot waveguide omnidirectional antennas to maintain
connection. The problem I have is determining the range of such an antenna setup, I know moisture, rain, terrian make all the difference but for a typical clear day with about 60% humidity what could one realistcally expect from this antenna. The antenna would at least provide a gain of ~15db.
Would someone point me in a direction so I may somewhat navigate myself through this?
Thank You,
Ron
