I've just purchased an Acer Travelmate 803LMi with Centrino and I cannot connect to my home wireless network, the control panel shows no available networks. I can connect fine using my network card though.

The wireless modem is a BT Voyager 2000 802.11b

Has anyone experienced the same or know of a solution?

Welcome to the forum. Have several questions. I assume it is XP? What is the wireless node make and model? What other devices are linking to the central device? Is this wireless adaptor a pc card or onboard minPCI adaptor, as I am not familiar with the brand? Have you checked the event log for any error messages? Have you checked the device manager to see if the wireless card is actually working correctly, or if there are any IRQ conflicts? Do you have the latest drivers on both the Internet gateway and client device?

Yes, it's XP Pro. The laptop adapter is the built in INTEL Pro/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini PCI Adapter with the latest drivers installed

The BT Voyager is an all-in-one wireless router/modem/firewall (http://www.voyager.bt.com/2000/prodinfo.htm).

Device manager shows no conflicts and the device is working properly. There are no errors in the event log

I've got it working now :D

I installed the Intel ProSet software and allowed that to manage the connection rather than WinXP

Glad to hear it, if it was the onboard adaptor that would have been my next recommendation.

Actually, WZC is not a good utility and I tell eveyone not to use it. Centrino might be better next time around as well, hope so as I am getting a little shell shocked at all the erratic problems with them.

Seems so, luckily I had a network card to download the Intel software. I would've been stuck without it!
