At least for me, you are going to have to explain what you are referring to in more detail. Are you looking at a method to locate wireles nodes. A way to map the nodes? It is difficult to determine what you are thinking about from the limited information available.

I would creating a demo of a system, where a handheld computer was used as an intelligent information viewer based on a persons location.
And I want to explore the applications already on the market.
My fianl goal is to accomplish a demo system of how to use WLAN Positioning in data management

The best stand alone ones that I've seen are from Ekahau (www.ekahau.com) and PanGo (www.pangonetworks.com).
I've used one from Cirond (www.cirond.com) in the past, and it was okay, but that was 9 or so months ago so I'm sure they have improved. They were more of a WLAN management software and positioning was just one part of what they did.
Also, a lot of the WLAN switch vendors such as Aruba (www.arubanetworks.com) have this functionality built in and from what I have see in real world applications, it works really well. They just tend not to offer the flexability of the stand alone versions. They would, however, probably be more cost effective if you do not have any wireless infrastructure in place as they would provide a total solution.
