hi...
i'm trying to set the mac filter for my lan with a gateway dl-624+ dlink.
the filter works fine but do not recognize the wi-fi mac addresses.
on dlink site there is a faq for a wifi router that explain the problem
if the filter do not work may be necessary to add the lan mac address of the router itself.

this trick do not work with my gateway.

any suggestion?

thank you!

Welcome to the forum. I assume that you are not in the US as you have the 624+. I have to ask if you have upgraded to the latest firmware? Also if you have, I hope that you did not obtain the firmware from the www.dlink.com site. You must get the firmware update specific for your location. If you have done this, then I apologize. It has been a problem before, where a person has used the US firmware and it created problems.

If none of this is a problem, then can you describe what you mean when you say the filter works fine, but it does not recognize the address? To me that means it is not working correctly, or I am misinterpreting what you are saying. Also, if you link the page with the FAQ, it would be helpful as each country has a different webpage. And the 624+ is not even listed in the US site for support.

i'm italian but i downloaed the firmware from uk because the italian's ftp do not have it.

the firmware version is 1.15

the link that i looked for was:

http://support.dlink.com/faq/view.asp?prod_id=1278&question=mac

excuse me for my bad english... sorry.

the problem is:

if i enable the mac filter on the firewall then it recognize all addresses but wi fi ones.

I see two possible problems. First the US site is very specific that you must use the firmware specified for your country, or you risk damage to the router/AP. Second, are you trying to use a router as a repeater? Can you explain exactly what you are doing, as it will help understand the situation better. If you are repeating you must have more than one router/AP and if you have MAC filtering turned on, the MAC address of the repeating AP must be entered in the filter table on the router or controlling node.

Also your English is fine, not a problem at all. Let us know about how your network is setup and you may want to check with the correct website about the firmware for your location. It may or may not be a problem.
