Howdy-

I recently acquired a Xircom springport SWE 1130 wifi ethernet card for my handspring Prism visor.

I have been unable to connect it to my lynksys router (wap54g).

I've turned off the security features of the router, WEP (out in the boonies).

I've tried the default dynamic ip settings.

I keep getting an error msg of wrong phone number from the visor or xircom. "error: incomplete setup. Check phone number"

I've tried both leaving the ssid blank and also making the same as the router.

Any suggestions?

Are you sure you loaded the right software for the card? Sounds like it is not. The devices is no longer supported, but here is a link to the software;

I re-loaded the software from the link that was suggested. It didn't work. I re-reviewed the help tips that are encoded onto the module its self.

The same error still comes up, and I am unable to connect to the network. or browse the internet with my pda.

Can you explain the error message in more detail. I am somewhat confused by that. It almost seems that they put a phone modem in an adaptor. Do you have a phone modem adaptor for that same pda? It sure is a strange one.

Yes I do have a minstral-S cellular modem adaptor for my pda as well. I though't I've removed all the files that it installs into the pda. I havn't used or have a service for it since yadda yadda went out of business in early 01 I think.

I guess I could erase the pda and start over.
