I am trying to use two DWL-650+ in ad-hoc mode to copy files back and forth between two PC's. PC #1 is a Toshiba 440CDT running Win 98 SE (Pentium 133 w/32MB). PC #2 is a Toshiba 2805-S401 (PIII 700 w/256M) running Millennium. The PC's connect initially and we can see each PC and their respective files using Network Neighborhood. When we attempt to copy a 3.0M file from one machine to the other, it copies about 1M. At this point PC #1 locks up. No matter which direction you copy the file, PC #1 always locks. It locks up such that the cursor won't work, and requires the reset button to be pressed. Any ideas why this happens? I have tried updating drivers and BIOS of the PC. Is it possible the wireless card needs more horsepower than PC #1 has? And if so why since my wire based card works fine? If this isn't a good network card to use in PC #1, are there better ones that maybe more compatible?

I replaced the DWL-650+ with a Linksys WPC11. It works fine.
