I'm looking to network my broadband Internet connection via a wireless network, using DLink's kit.
Can I just plug in my ISP's Internet RJ-45 Ethernet cable into the WAP Ethernet port, or do I need to do this via a router? I thought I'd been told that the DWL-5000AP did both, but maybe I misunderstood.
My previous posting got zero replies; perhaps I'd worded my problem wrongly.
Any advice would be welcome.:D

D-Link DWL-5000AP is an access point, not a access point and router in one.
D-Link does make such a product, check their website for it, http://www.d-link.com/

Thanks Max.
Yes, I had finally got that worked out since I posted - I ought to have updated my query - sorry.
I'm now struggling with the router I bought - a DLink DI-604. I've got the network up and running to some extent, but with still some bits to sort out. A W98 machine isn't too happy. The router has so many ambiguous variables to set (which may sort out some of the hiccups).

Although I'm just getting into wireless, I've had a wired network in my house for several years. I've been using SMC Barricade internet gateway/router for over a year now with no problems. I highly recommend it.

Thanks for the advice Max; sounds like you've hit on a reliable product there.
If I ever get fed up with my DLink stuff, I'll give it a go.
Kind regards, Ian
