Here is a 802.11b hardware application question.

I am considering setting up a hotspot in my neighborhood as a test to setting up to deliver broadband via 802.11b to my small town. I understand that from an AP on a tower I am going to need some sort of an antenna at the client site (perhaps a flat panel or parbolic with LOS to my tower) but what goes into the house from the outside antenna?

I am curious to hear from those of you who are already WISPs. What are you doing? ie... are you feeding the signal to Cat5 and going to a NIC in thier computer or are you delievering the signal to another indoor antenna or AP and broadcasting to WLAN cards in the PCs?

Thanks TLC

Check out ydi.com They have whats called an Ether-ANT which is a flat panel antenna with a ethernet connection supported by Power over Ethernet and plugs into the customer PC/router
