We are bringing up our first 802.11b tower. It is 130' tall with 120' of LMR-900 and a 15db omni antenna. After installing a Teletronics 2.4g 500mw outdoor smartamp out noise level went from a -97 to -84. We still get a -97 from the notebook card. We are measuring the level by using a notebook with a Orinoco gold card using the client software that comes with the card. The readings were taken from many locations with consistant results. After removing the amp the noise level went back down to -97.
Is it likly we have a deffective amp or are we averlooking something?
