mobile wifi - RV or bus

Wondering if anyone has experience with mobile wifi? I know that there are companies that install wifi on RV's, but I'm looking for more info on the technology and practicality of it all. Also wondering what they're using on trains. Anyone put wireless through satellite in their car?

All I know is that the marine satellite setups are expensive to buy and expensive to subscribe to.

Cellphone web access is much cheaper and will handle email duties quite well as long as you don't send big attachments. Cellphone data rates have been 14.4kbps but recently there have been offerings much faster.

I'd be checking with the cellphone people, and not messing with sat net. The only reason boats don't go cell is cause cell only reaches out 4 or 5 miles offshore...
