Hello,

I often notice customers using their laptops while waiting for car repairs and it occurred to me that we could advertise availability of free Internet access while they are here for service. We have a great DSL setup now for our employees. I wondered how hard it would be to setup wireless for those customers. Currently we have a Speedstream modem with 4 ports, and then a Sonic Wall used as a router for our wired machines. I was thinking I could just buy an inexpensive wirelss router such as a Linskeys and plug it into one of the other 4 ports on the Speedstreem, and I would pretty much be all set. I can't imagine I would ever have more than 3 o4 4users at any given time on the wireless. Any thoughts?

Ideally you would get a separate DSL line, mainly for security reasons but also for speed. The setup you described would work fine though.

I would look into something with DAT because it makes it easier for people to log on. The proxim 2500 (http://www.proxim.com/products/wifi/ap/ap2500/) has DAT.

ebay (http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?cgiurl=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2Fws%2 F&krd=1&from=R8&MfcISAPICommand=GetResult&ht=1&SortProperty=MetaEndSort&query=ap-2500) has them for ~$460
