Hi,
I would just like to know if any other budding wireless engineers have had the same experience.
I was looking to purchase a wireless sniffer, and concluded Airmagnet would do the trick, however because 802.11g was being ratified soon, I checked with Airmagnet and my local reseller and told that I should not hold off buying because there is an upgrade that allows you to upgrade to 802.11g costing around $300 to $500. So I purchased the Combo ( laptop and handheld ) solutions and software support thinking I could upgrade cheaply in 2-3 months.
Well Now 802.11g has been here a while and Airmagnet released there new version, but I have been told I cannot upgrade, Ive gota fork out $3000 ( buy the new software ) to be able to support 802.11g. I have learnt a hard lesson in . Anybody else had this experience???
A concerned Engineer....
